Wasted and Weird

Posted in Tech Humor, Uncategorized by Paul Jacob on September 29th, 2006

People in Japan actually use this to read their favorite comics and books. Wow what a crazy way to read something. It takes like 15mins to turn the darn thing on. I seriously want to smack whoever made this. It looks crappy and fragile. I mean who would buy such a big bulky thing.

Yahoo and H.P. teaming up

Posted in Tech Corner by Paul Jacob on September 29th, 2006

Yahoo is trying its best to beat its arch rival Google. Recently Yahoo has made a deal with Hewlett-Packard to place Yahoo search and other services on H.P. computers sold in the United States and Europe. Hewlett-Packard has agreed to feature a co-branded Yahoo-H.P. Internet toolbar on its computers and to make Yahoo the default search service in Microsoft’s coming Internet Explorer 7 on some models. This will definitely give Yahoo a jump start in its race to out run Google. Similarly Google has made deals with Dell computers, Adobe and so on.

Zune to be released in November

Posted in Tech Corner, Uncategorized by Paul Jacob on September 29th, 2006

The Zune music player from Microsoft is set to hit the market in November just around the start of the Christmas season. It resembles Apple iPod in all sense and it will cost $249.99 which is similar to an iPod. Micrsoft is trying its best to beat its rival Apple. Its hoping with its new music player Zune it can take over the iPod dominated music business.

Zune offers two features which its rival iPod lacks: a subscription music service and the ability to share music with other Zune users through a wifi connection. The service will let people buy songs individually for about 99 cents.Microsoft will also offer a Zune Pass subscription service, which will let users listen to any of about two million songs for $14.99 a month. Hopefully these new features will give an edge to the Zune. Will it Zune in or Zune out. That remains to be seen….

Sony Ericsson launched their first Bluetooth watch today. Its called the MBW-100. What this bluetooth ready watch will do for it users is that it will let the wearer know who is calling him/her and other information from their linked mobile phone. The MBW-100’s controls can also be used to control music playback on compatible mobile phones as well as alert users of newly received text messages - all from their wrist. Also if you don’t feel like answering the call then the watch can be used to reject inbound calls and have them sent directly to voicemail. The MBW-100 is compatible with the following Sony Ericsson handsets: K610, K610i, K618, K790, K800, V630, W710, W810, W850, Z610, and Z710.
